Mr. Bitting spoke at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. regarding transportation software and the internet. Soon after, Mark took a position with BASF, the chemical company, managing their North American liquid bulk chemicals supply chain. Recently, Mr. Bitting was promoted to President of QC Energy Resources, a subsidiary of Quality Distribution, a company that provides transportation assets, logistics and fluid distribution systems for the oil and gas industry in North America. From 2000 through 2004, Mr. Trimble was Chief Executive Officer of Elysium Energy and then Tex-Cal Energy LLC, both of which were privately held oil and gas companies that he was brought in to take through troubled workout solutions. Prior to this, he was Senior Vice President of Exploration and Production for Cabot Oil and Gas (NYSE: COG). Mr. Trimble was hired in July 2002 as CEO of TexCal (formerly Tri-Union Development) to manage a distressed oil and gas company through bankruptcy, and that company filed for Chapter 11 reorganization within 45 days after the date that Mr. Trimble accepted such employment. He successfully managed the company through its exit from bankruptcy in 2004. Larry Wickstrom, Division Chief and State Geologist, Ohio State Division of Geological Survey Larry Wickstrom is the 12th state geologist of Ohio and Chief of the Division of Geological Survey within the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. The Division researches and maps Ohio's geology to support industry, commerce, environment, safety and education. The Geological Survey also serves as the state's permanent archive and public access point for geologic data. Larry received both his B.S. and M.S. degrees in geology from Kent State University and has been a geologist with the Ohio Geological Survey since 1983. He has performed many geologic investigations that have led to over 40 technical publications and numerous abstracts. Mr. Wickstrom has spent much of his career within the Energy Resources Group at the Ohio Geological Survey performing and supervising research on the state's subsurface geologic framework, oil and gas bearing strata, coal and coalbed methane, permit reviews and geologic investigations on Class I (hazardous and industrial waste) injection sites, and geologic CO2 sequestration. He has led numerous industry-government consortia investigating a wide range of energy-related topics. He is currently director of geology for the nine-state Midwest Regional Carbon Sequestration Partnership (MRCSP) and also leads a team investigating the efficacy of CO2-assisted enhanced oil recovery within Ohio. Larry is also directing the Survey's research on the developing Utica-Point Pleasant shale play. | |
Ted Wurfel, VP Environmental, Safety and Regulatory Affairs, Chief Gathering LLC From 1985-1995, Ted Wurfel served in the infantry, in the US, Germany and Panama. He completed numerous schools while in the Army including: Airborne, Air Assault, Jungle training and two Army management schools. In 1994, Mr. Wurfel graduated from the Colorado School of Mines with a BS in Engineering. He is a PE in Texas and Colorado, is currently the Vice Chair of the Marcellus Shale Coalition's Midstream Committee, and is a Board Member of the Central Pennsylvania Workforce Development Council. Since 1994, Mr. Wurfel has worked in the natural gas industry for Tenneco, El Paso, KN Energy (later Kinder Morgan), Koch, several environmental consulting firms, and now Chief Gathering. During his career, he has been responsible for permitting and compliance of gathering and processing facilities in 15 states and several Canadian provinces. Currently, Mr. Wurfel is the Vice President of Environmental, Saftey and Regulatory affairs for Chief Gathering. Chief Gathering has installed 101 miles of natural gas gathering pipeline and five compressor stations in the last three years, and plans to install and additional 100 miles of pipe and three additional compressor stations in 2012. |
